The Bury Indoor Bowling League was formed in 1991 and is played in the main hall in Castle Leisure Centre on Thursday's and Friday's throughout the winter season (October to March).
The game is played on carpets which are laid out and maintained by the Leisure Centre who also supply Jacks and Bowls.
Teams pay the Leisure Centre £20 per Hour for the use of two carpets to complete a League match.

A team for a League match consists of four bowlers (two per game) playing the opposition on two carpets. The total points available per match is six. Two points per game and two points for the overall aggregate.
There are two leagues with twelve teams in each division.
Some 200 people participate in Indoor Bowls throughout the season.
We play to rules based on flat green carpet bowling.
Apart from the A.G.M. and award presentation the only time that people meet is when League or Cup matches are being played.
