Help set the priorities for Bury West

Date published: 09 January 2012

Round table discussions will be the order of the day when Bury West Township Forum meets on Thursday 19 January.

A series of workshops will take place at an informal meeting, giving local residents the chance to give their views and identify four or five key, realistic and achievable priorities to be included in the Bury West Area Plan.

The groups will look at themes including health, community safety, worklessness and training, education and learning opportunities. Each group will be asked to give their opinions and suggest ideas to help ensure that goals are achieved.

The meeting is at Elton High School and starts at 7pm. An update on the plans for Elton High School will be given and the usual open forum and public question time will be on the agenda in the second half of the meeting.

Councillor Michael Hankey, chair of Bury West Township Forum, said: "This is one of the most important meetings of the year, when we set out our plan of work for the year ahead. It is vital that we have good representation from the residents of Bury and we invite everyone to attend the meeting."
