Blooming marvellous effort from young people

Date published: 28 November 2010

Pupils from Woodbank and Tottington primary schools have been playing their part in drawing attention to a terrible disease.

They joined forces with Bury Ranger Service and Tottington and Bury West Rotary club to plant 3,000 crocus bulbs.

The planting is part of the End Polio Now events which have been taking place across the UK. For the last 25 years, Rotary has been working hard to rid the world of polio, which can kill or severely disable children.

Pupils from Years 2 and 5/6 came down to Burrs Country Park in Bury and Town Meadow in Tottington to help plant the bulbs which should bring a splash of colour to February.

For more information about the work of the ranger service throughout Bury please contact senior ranger Carragh Teague on 0161 253 6923.
