Reindeer in Ramsbottom this Christmas
Date published: 13 December 2011
Ramsbottom’s reindeer are back, and this time they’ve brought a little friend with them.
Mum, dad and six-month-old baby reindeer will be waiting for you at St Paul’s Church on Sunday 18 December from 10.30am, before jet-setting around the world delivering presents.
Visitors can pet and feed the reindeer and find out more about their history, and have your picture taken on a traditional sleigh with one of the reindeer.
And you can enter a competition to “adopt” the baby reindeer and win a camping holiday for four at Tarvin Sands, home of our reindeer. Tickets are available from participating stores in Ramsbottom town centre, and winners will be announced on Sunday at 3pm.
Also in Ramsbottom on 18 Dec:
- 11am to noon: Hazlehurst Primary School Brass Band, at St Paul’s Church.
- Noon to 1pm: Fusiliers Band at Ramsbottom Civic Hall, and then at St Paul’s Church from 3pm to 4pm.
- 1.30pm to 2.45pm: Nativity & Carol Singing (Churches Together), about the town and at St Paul’s Church.
All-day events on 18 December include:
- Craft and Food Market, Ramsbottom Civic Hall – a last-minute chance for Christmas shopping and festive food.
- Lancashire Hawks and Owls, Market Place - all birds are hand-reared and totally approachable, which enables you to touch them and even have your photo taken with them.
- Father Christmas – in the Market Place. Tell him what you want for Christmas!
