Tales of the unexpected at Ramsbottom Library

Urban legends and mysteries of Greater Manchester were brought to life by a local author and historian.

Keith Warrender entertained guests at Ramsbottom Library and Adult Learning centre with tales of the many curiosities and oddities in and around the city.

Having spent years searching out hidden places in the conurbation, he has now published books on the subject: Underground Manchester, Below Manchester and most recently Manchester Oddities.

Keith said: “There are lots of long-forgotten places which are then rediscovered; some of Manchester's were found in the 1960s and 70s. The fascination with this subject is that there always seem to be new things waiting to be discovered and fresh information keeps on coming in from the public.”
