Date published: 24 August 2011
The Rotary Club of Ramsbottom are holding a fundraising event at the Theatre Royal Ramsbottom.
The Play is "Dick Barton - Special Agent". Britain's entire tea supply is threatened to be poisoned by arch enemies Marta Heartburn and Baron Scarheart. Dick to the rescue, singing as he goes, and saves the day.
Paul Bracewell, Sarah Bell, Chris Balmer are the main actors, along with a number of the Youth Theartre members. Music and dancing are provided by the Debbie Simmons dance school. The director is Peter Larkin.
The Times says "the play is deliriously funny" and the The Guardian says "Phil Wilmott - the author of the play is one of the most versatile, best and amazing prolific directors about"
So all the makings of a good night out. The main focus for our fund raising this year is to enhance the lifestyle of the individual, a good example of this is the Smile Train in India.
Dick Barton - Special Agent, Friday 16th September, starts at 7.30, tickets now on sale at Weale & Hitchen Bridge Street, Ramsbottom or any member of the Rotary Club, are £10 each including free refreshments during the interval.
