Road Closures in place for Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival

Date published: 12 April 2011

Back for its third year, Ramsbottom Chocolate Festival 2011 promises to be even bigger and better than before and to allow the event run smoothly a number of roads in the town will be closed.

Bridge Street will be closed to traffic from the Bolton Street junction to the Crow Lane junction from 5:30am on Saturday 16 April until 8pm on Sunday 17 April.

This road closure will also affect the one way system on Square Street (to junction of Smithy Street), and Silver Street (to Caramel hairdressers).

A diversion will be in operation:

• From Bolton Street: Kay Brow, Railway Street, before rejoining Bridge Street near to the East Lancs Railway station.
• From Ramsbottom Lane: Factory Street, Crow Lane, before rejoining Bridge Street near to the church.
• From lower Bridge Street: Crow Lane, Factory Street, before rejoining Ramsbottom Lane.

The town centre will be busy so visitors to the event are advised to park at:
• Civic Hall/ Market Place car park
• Railway St car park next to the East Lancs Railway station
• Alternatively, park out of town and walk in

Celebrating everything that is great about chocolate, the festival brings together some of the best of chocolate produce and producers around.

The event includes a 2 day chocolate market, with over 40 stalls selling chocolate and chocolate related produce from some of the UK's leading chocolatiers.

This year the festival features some of Europe’s leading Fair Trade chocolate producers, including Divine Chocolate, Choc-Affair, Zotter, Choco La La and many more.

There will also be chocolate demonstrations, children’s craft activity, chocolate workshops, chocolate beauty products and competitions.
