Man assaulted in Radcliffe
Date published: 19 October 2011
A man had his jaw and foot broken during an attack in Radcliffe.
At around 9.15pm on Sunday 25 September 2011, the 48-year-old victim was driving along Water Street, when he noticed he was being followed by a silver Peugeot car.
He stopped at traffic lights with the junction of Ainsworth Road and turned his car around, going back along Water Street before parking on Milton Road.
As the victim got out of his car, he saw the Peugeot again.
It sped towards him and ran over his foot, breaking it before the driver got out of the vehicle and hit him twice with a wheel brace, breaking his jaw.
The victim ran off but not before seeing the man smash the windows of his car.
The man is described as being white, 5ft 10in tall and of medium build. He wore dark clothing.
Now police have released an image of the silver Peugeot car.
Detective Inspector Vicky Shaw from Bury CID said: “The victim has been left with serious and painful injuries and I would urge anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.
“We do not believe this was a random attack and would ask people to take a good look at the images of the vehicle. If you recognise it or saw it driving away from Milton Street, please contact us.”
Anyone with any information should phone police on 0161 856 8162 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
