Success for Radcliffe AC women

It was success for Radcliffe AC women in this week's races.

Midweek Donna Cartwright ran the flat fast Running Spex 7 along the canal at Clayton-le-Moors and took fourth women's place and on Sunday in the Northern Vets AC 10k at Bispham, Sheila Jones (V55) clocked 49mins 56secs and Eileen Royle (V60) 52mins 17secs, both winning their age categories. The Blackpool race was part of the Central Lancs Grand Prix which the club take part in.

On the fells George Critchley was first home for Radcliffe on a wet night in the six mile Pilgrim's Cross.

Starting from Helmshore the event climbed 1,100 feet on the muddy Holcombe Moors and 139 runners took part. Critchley clocked 58mins 25secs followed by Berin Jones in 1hr 00mins 55secs and Mark Murphy in 1hr 04mins 06secs.
