10 Golds, 2 Silver and 7 Bronze

KSD Karate Club, Prestwich, took part in the Shido-Ryu Shukokai National Championships in Ashton-u-Lyne on Sunday 27 November 2011.
The squad of 22 KSD members ranged in age from 5 years old to 32 years old and 9th Kyu Red Belt to 2nd Dan Black Belt.
KSD Karate Club came away with 10 Gold medals, 2 Silver and 8 Bronze.
“An excellent result considering the standard of the other clubs” said Sensei Darren Barber, 4th Dan.
Sensei Darren Barber continued: “The KSD's Squad have been training hard for 6 weeks leading up to this competition, putting in extra hours as well as the core classes.
“KSD had members in most categories and for most of them this was their first taste of competition, I am very proud of everyone.
“There were ten clubs in all who entered the competition, two from Wales, one from Preston, one from Oldham, four from Tameside and ourselves. Well over 100 competitors in attendance in all.
“The club won Gold in Kumite, Kata and team Kata.
"Special mention to three times gold Medal Winner Chelsea Boyes and two times Gold Medal winner Claire Bannister.”

I am proud of every Team KSD member, they all played a part and represented the club in a positive way, their all winners in my eyes.
I want to thank my Team of Instructors and assistant Instructors, without their attention to detail and hard work none of the above would of been possible.
