All the fun of the (Christmas) Fair at Butterstile Primary School
Date published: 24 November 2011
Children from Butterstile Primary School in Prestwich will be getting into the Christmas spirit on Friday with their second annual Christmas Fair.
The event made its debut on the school calendar last year and was such a huge success that the Friends of Butterstile, teachers and staff have decided to make it a regular festive fixture.
The fair takes place this Friday, 25th November and will feature tombolas, cakes and mince pies, an array of festive stalls, a chocolate fountainsand face painting. And Santa will even be making an appearance to wish the children Happy Christmas and perhaps give them an early gift.
Colleen Donovan-Togo, Chair of the Friends of Butterstile Association says: “The Christmas Fair was such a big success last year that everyone was keen to do it again.
“As well as being great fun for the children and getting everybody in the mood for Christmas, we are also going to use the profits from the fair to support activities at the school and excursions for the children.
“The donations will also go towards our ongoing sensory garden programme which we are creating for the school in association with Groundwork and as well as this we also hope to devote some money to developing the school’s play facilities.
“Our Christmas Fair will have plenty of holiday treats, including a chocolate tombola, festive stalls, homemade mince pies, a chocolate fountain, face painting, and of course, will feature very special visitor from the North Pole!”
