Four people charged as part of drugs and counterfeit clothing invesatigation

Four people have been charged following a long-running investigation into drugs, counterfeit clothing and money laundering.
Shahnuz Chaudhry, Abdul Hamid Chaudhry, Mohammed Basit Chaudhry, all of Chatburn Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, and Mohammed Kamran Chaudhry, of Bury Old Road, Prestwich, were all charged with conspiring to infringe copyrights, possession of class B drugs with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of class B drugs and five offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Shahnuz Chaudhry was also charged with five mortgage frauds.
They are all due before Manchester City Magistrates Court today, Thursday, 10 November 2011.
The charges relate to a two-year-old investigation into organised crime groups involved in drugs, counterfeit clothing and money laundering.
On Wednesday 9 November 2011, officers from Serious Crime Division and Tactical Aid Unit executed eight warrants across Chorlton, Prestwich, Stretford and Cheetham Hill and recovered £15,000 in cash and a large amount of high value jewellery.
During the course of the investigation officers had already recovered illegal clothing worth £250,000 and seven kilogrammes of cannabis.
