Man charged with murder

A man been charged with murder following the death of Brian Gavigan.

Wesley Isherwood, of Prestwich, was charged and is due to appear before Bury magistrates court today, Wednesday 7 September 2011.

Just before 4.30am on Sunday 4 September 2011, police were called to a house on Merton Road, Bury, following reports the body of a man was inside the address.

Officers attended and discovered Brian had suffered multiple injuries.

The emergency services attempted to resuscitate him but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A post mortem examination concluded he died as a result of multiple injuries to his head and body.
