Feast of talent in Week 2 of Prestwich Festival
Date published: 16 May 2011
There’s no excuse for being bored in Prestwich with seven different events to choose from in Week Two of the Prestwich Festival.
The very best in young showbiz will be on stage at “Prestwich Has Junior Talent”, held on Thursday 19 May at the Paragon Theatre, Prestwich Arts College. Start: 7.30pm, tickets are £4 and £2.
You can dance the weekend away with Friday Night Dance Fever (20 May) and the Gordon Wright Sound on Saturday (21). Both events start at 7.30pm at the Longfield Suite: £6 admission.
Meanwhile, on Sunday 22 May, there’s a car boot sale at St Mary’s Park and the popular Prestwich Farmers and Craft Market at the Longfield Centre. Why not stock up on picnic food from the market and head for St Mary’s Flower Park, when Besses Brass Band play a free concert from 2pm to 4pm.
Sports fans should enjoy Premier Cup competition rugby at 1pm when Sedgley Park take on Denton St Lawrence at The Heys.
Festival organiser David Curtis said: “There’s a huge variety of events to suit every taste, so come along and join in the fun.”
