Date published: 26 January 2012

Summerseat Methodist Primary School in Bury has been announced as the winner of a classroom makeover package worth over £5,000, beating competition from hundreds of schools across the country.

The competition, 'Give Your School a Hug', was run by YPO and Berol by Papermate throughout 2011 to give teachers the chance to win the classroom makeover by entering a national prize draw.

The total prize package includes £3,000 of YPO products and equipment for the classroom, £1,000 of Berol by Papermate products and £1,000 of Dymo labelling machines. The school will be officially presented with their prizes on Tuesday, 31 January 2012 by YPO Commercial Director, Jo Marshall and Berol Marketing Manager, Claire Dudley.

Jo commented: "I would like to congratulate Summerseat Methodist Primary in winning these fantastic prizes for the school. At YPO, we pride ourselves on providing a diverse range of quality products for schools, and hope that our resources will really enhance the education of Summerseat pupils."

David Griffith, Head Teacher at Summerseat Methodist Primary School said: "We are delighted to be one of the lucky winners of the Give Your School a Hug competition. As a small school, our budget is always tight and we know this prize will make a massive difference to the children's learning. We have ordered a wide range of YPO goods which will spark the children's creativity and enhance their learning in all aspects of the curriculum."

Bury Council recently became an associate member of YPO. Although all the public sector can access the full YPO range of best value products and contracts, associate members also receive additional customer benefits which can help them achieve further savings and efficiencies.
