GCSE results celebrated in Bury

The provisional GCSE results from Bury High Schools in 2011 show another improvement in GCSE outcomes with 62.6% gaining 5 A*-C including English and mathematics.

The 5 A*-C pass mark including English and mathematics shows an increase of 0.5% from a very strong performance in 2010.

In addition 80.7% gained 5 good GCSE passes which is also a small increase on last year.

Councillor Nick Parnell, Executive Member for Children and Families said: “Bury’s schools have yet again shown the ability to deliver positive outcomes for young people in Bury that will help many of them to make a very good transition at 16.”.

“The council would like to pass on its congratulations to all the young people who have received their exam results this year and wish them all the best for the future – be that in employment, training or further education”.
