Hair and Beauty students raise money for the Hair and Beauty Benevolent Fund
Date published: 17 July 2011
30 Hair and Beauty students and staff organised a sponsored walk to raise money for the Hair and Beauty Benevolent Fund, a charity dedicated to those working in the Hair and Beauty industry.
Students paid £1 entry and dressed up in St Trinian’s outfits for the walk, which took place on the running track. The aim was to walk or run around the track as many times as they could in one hour.
Linda Chapman, an adult learner on the Level 3 Hairdressing course at Bury College, took part in the fundraising with her daughter Natalie, who is also studying Level 3 Hairdressing. Linda said, “We’re all doing this for a good cause and having fun whilst we’re doing it. I’m currently claiming from the charity myself who are helping me find white goods for my flat as I’m a single parent. I was more than happy to help and give back.”
The Hair and Beauty Benevolent Fund offers assistance and support to those working in the Hair and Beauty sector. The charity can assist with bills, domestic appliances and training in exceptional circumstances.
