Be part of the Olympic dream
Date published: 17 October 2011
Take up a new sport or cultural activity and be part of the Olympic legacy in Bury.
Two free sessions have been organised when you can have a go at mixed martial arts, street cheer, football, parkour (free running) and DJ skills.
It’s all happening on Friday 21 October at Close Park, Dumers Lane, Radcliffe, and then on Saturday 22 October at Manchester Road Park, Bury. Both events run from 6pm to 8pm.
There’s no need to book – just turn up and join in. The sessions are aimed at young people aged 11-plus.
The events have been organised by the Active Bury Communities (ABC) Group. It’s a chance for people to take up new activities in a different setting, and to become active and socialise on a Friday and Saturday night.
The ABC brings together several agencies including GMP, GM Fire Service, Six Town Housing, Bury East Sports Association, and Radcliffe and Bury South Sports Forum. The aim is to provide better sport and physical activity opportunities to all communities across the borough.
