Bury will come to a stand still on Friday 7th March as Bury's world famous Black Pudding Magnate, Barry Black, will be laid to rest. Steam train enthusiast Barry will make his final journey on the East Lancashire Railway as his funeral cortege will terminate at Bury's Bolton Street station, then onto the steam train towards the big Black Pudding Factory in the sky.'
The East Lancs Railway Station on Bolton Street in Bury become the backdrop to important film scenes for a young peoples play - "Les Puddings Noir" which premieres at Bury Met on the 26th and 27th of March. The play, featuring approximately 20 young people from Bury and immediate vicinity, has been produced by MaD theatre Company (Middleton Active Drama Group for Children) in association with Bury Youth Service and is a comic celebration of Bury's rich culture and heritage.
