Tree - mendous opportunity for Bury Schools
Reporter: Ask Bury
Date online: 06 March 2008
Bury Council is encouraging local schools to make the most of their grounds by planting trees with the David Bellamy Free Tree Appeal.
By simply visiting the website of local print shop and filling out the application form, schools in the Bury area could receive their very own tree planted by Professor David Bellamy. Five schools will be selected and the web address is: http://www.printing.com/about/nominate
Councillor Diana Ashworth Executive Member for Children and Young People said: "This is a great chance for our children to get involved in adding to the natural beauty of our landscapes. The planting of trees will help create woodland habitat and, most importantly, it will provide an excellent learning resource - planting trees, watching them grow, seeing how wildlife is encouraged and charting the changing seasons and weather".
The winners will be selected based upon how many nominations are received per school. So get voting the more you vote, the more chances you have to win.
