Local Mums say 'Stay and Play' at Rainscough Community Centre.

Rainscough Community Centre is celebrating the launch of the brand new 'Stay and Play' session for local kids, which is being run by two local mums.

Karen Cavanagh and Yvonne Dowding, working in partnership with Butterstile Children's Centre and Rainscough Community Centre, have helped get the weekly sessions up and running.

The first session, which took place on Tuesday 17 June, was really well attended and the children enjoyed taking part in all the play activities, art session and sing song.

Children's Services hope that they will be able to provide more services from the centre over the coming months and allow them to further engage with the local community.

Councillor Diana Ashworth, Executive Member for Children and Young People said, "I am sure this scheme will be a great asset to the local community. I would like to pass on my thanks to Rainsough Community Centre, the volunteers and parents who were involved with getting the group up and running".

The group will meet every Tuesday morning between 9:30 and 12 at The Den and costs £1.50 per adult.
