Couple attacked during attempted robbery

A man and woman have been attacked during an attempted robbery in Prestwich.
At about 10.20pm on Saturday 17 May 2008, police were called to Bury Old Road, where two men had tried to steal the couple's car.
One of the offenders pushed the woman out of the way while both men demanded the car keys from her husband.
The offenders attacked the man who defended himself, before running off to a car parked nearby and driving away towards Sheepfoot Lane and Scholes Lane.
The man suffered bruising to his body as a result of the incident and both the victims were left extremely shaken.
The offenders are described as white, about 5ft 8in of slim build, aged in their early twenties. They were wearing light coloured grey tops with the hoods up and dark coloured pants.
