Bury's Young People Re-elect a Member for Youth Parliament

Bury youngsters aged 11 to 18 have been involved in the United Kingdom Youth Parliament (UKYP).
Bury is entitled to have one Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) and two deputies, they represent the views of Bury young people at UKYP meetings.
UKYP is a national organisation including elected representatives from every local authority in the country. Members of UKYP campaign to make positive changes for other young people across the country.
6775 young people aged 11-18 voted in schools and colleges across Bury on Monday 17th March. Catherine Rawsthorne (Holy Cross College) was re-elected as Bury's Member of Youth Parliament and Umar Mukhtar (Derby High) and Max Sampson (Woodhey High) were elected as Deputy Members of Youth Parliament. These young people will debate with young people locally in Bury, at North West Regional meetings and nationally at the UKYP Annual Sitting.
