Bury Libraries celebrates all things books

Bury Libraries will stage a reader's day between 9.30am and 4pm on Saturday 1 July to celebrate all things literary.

The event is being held in association with Random House Publishers, Time To Read and The Reading Agency and takes place at The Met on Haymarket Street Bury.

Established authors Anne Fine, John Harvey and Julie Myerson, together with new author Jane Hill will be at the event to showcase their latest books and each will lead a workshop where audience members will have the opportunity to question them about their work. Random House will send complimentary copies of the books for the workshops to everyone booking

As well as the workshops there will be panel discussions and a question and answer session with Simon Thorogood, Commissioning Editor of Transworld Publishers. At lunchtime there will be a readers' fair with book based games and a chance to win book tokens and library staff will be on hand with suggestions for new directions in reading.

Lunch will be provided and one special lunch bag will contain a Willy Wonka style Golden Ticket giving the finder a prize even better than chocolateThe day will end with everyone being presented with a goody bag to take away.

The price for the day, including books for workshops, lunch and goody bag, is just £10.

Booking forms will be available from all Bury libraries from Thursday onwards. Places are limited and booking closes on 5 June.
