Man charged following stabbing

A man has been charged with assault after a 26-year-old was stabbed in the face in Bury at the weekend.

Clifford Heys (born 03/11/61) of Townfields Close in Bury was charged with s18 assault on Saturday 15 July 2006.

He is due to appear at Bury Magistrates’ Court this morning, Monday 17 July 2006.

The charges follow an incident in which a man received a stab wound to his face on Townfields Close shortly before 7.15pm on Saturday 15 July 2006.

The victim was taken to Fairfield Hospital for treatment but has since been transferred to Blackburn Hospital.
