Man dies following road traffic collision

A 64-year-old man has died in hospital following a collision in Bury last week.

Shortly after 9.10am on Thursday 17 August 2006, the man was at the junction of Bell Lane and Willow Street when he was in collision with a black Toyota Yaris.

The man, from the local area, was taken to Fairfield Hospital with multiple injuries. He was later transferred to the Royal Preston Hospital where he died yesterday evening, Monday 28 August 2006.

A 24-year-old man driving the Toyota, who is from Rochdale, was not injured in the collision.

A number of roads were closed for up to three hours in the area following the incident.
