Appeal to trace car after stabbing - Prestwich

Police are appealing for help in tracing a car after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the leg in Prestwich on Saturday 30 December 2006.

The boy was walking along Heywood Road in Whitefield with two friends when he was confronted by a group of youths.

The three boys ran off onto St Mary's Road where the 16-year-old was stabbed in the leg.

Officers are keen to trace a black car, possibly a Ford Focus or Vauxhall Astra, which was at the scene at the time of the stabbing.

The 16-year-old was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a stable condition.
