Adult students can now access a range of brand new education courses Ramsbottom Library and Adult learning Centre.

Classes that formerly took place in the old Bolton Street Centre have now moved to the library which opened just last week.

In the language room people can sample the new equipment that will be used to teach French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese Greek and British Sign Language. The theme of much of the new equipment is lsquo;interactive’. It is now possible to listen to a conversation, take down notes on a lap-top computer or be taught via the interactive whiteboard.

In the computer suite students can now use the internet, send e-mails and trace family history using recent census data. In the art and craft room, there will be the opportunity to make soft furnishing items like quilts, cushions and curtains.

In the art and craft room there will be opportunities to do calligraphy, portrait drawing and landscape painting.

There will be a taster in personal responses to drawing and painting on 20th February. There will be a taster in portrait drawing starting on 22nd February. There will also be computer taster courses starting on 7th March and another on 14th March.
