Family learning is a crafty business at library
Date published: 08 February 2012
A free craft session for families takes place at Bury Library to mark the national Campaign for Learning.
The session includes stories, making flower cards and much more, and is on Friday 17 February from 1pm to 3pm.
It is suitable for children aged four and above, and youngsters must be accompanied by an adult: parents, grandparents and carers are welcome. Places are limited, so please book at Bury Library.
The Campaign for Learning works to build motivation, create opportunities and provide support for learning in families. It says that research shows that lifelong learners are more likely to be happier, healthier, have better jobs, contribute more to society and live longer and more fulfilled lives. Also, that parental involvement in a child's learning is more powerful than family background, size of family or level of parental education and, in the primary years, has more impact on attainment than the school itself.
