"Plastic Fantastic" at Coronation Road Library
Date published: 28 January 2012
Library visitors can help the environment and raise money for charity by donating plastic screw tops from milk bottles.
Milk bottle tops are filling up landfill sites where they take many years to decompose, but they could be recycled to make garden furniture and other items.
Donated tops also raise money for charitable projects such as the Project Romania appeal – see www.projectromaniachard.org.uk/ourprojects.php
Coronation Road Community Centre and Library, in Westminster Avenue, Radcliffe, is now a designated collection point for these bottle tops. Residents are urged to take them to the library, or drop them off at their local library and ask for them to be sent to Coronation Road. Please make sure the bottle tops are washed and bagged.
