Cheerleaders will Shaker them up on Sky TV!

Date published: 26 January 2012

Bury FC’s cheerleaders will do the club proud when they show off their skills on Sky TV on Saturday 28 January.

They will be appearing live on the Soccer AM show on Sky One, from 10am to noon.

Liz Norris, who started the dance group while a youth worker for Bury Council and developed it over the years, said: “When Sky TV call and ask you to appear live on Soccer AM, who would say no? We’re delighted to get the chance to put the Shakers on the national sporting map again, especially as Saturday is the big derby game against Rochdale.

“On the show, the girls will perform a routine to our Bury FC theme song "Shake It", and some will show off Soccer AM's new sporting t-shirts. Tune in and see us in action!”
The six cheerleaders taking part are Phillipa Madgin-Ramsden, Lydia Beck, Rachel Aldred, Zara Schofield, Becky Leveridge, and Sarah Howarth. They are all over 18 and assistant coaches in the Street Shakers Dance and Cheer clubs and local schools. They all have other jobs and/or college commitments and gladly give up their free time to represent Bury.
