National Storytelling Week

Date published: 24 January 2012

Libraries across Bury are once again taking part in National Storytelling Week from 28 January to 4 February.

National Storytelling Week is in its 12th year and in 2011 gained a combined audience of 17,000 people aged from three to 93. The aim is to increase public awareness of the art, practice and value of storytelling, engaging audiences with tales of myths, folk and all the great traditional legends from around the world.

Storytelling can be found enriching lives everywhere: from nurseries to schools, from bereavement aids in hospitals to strengthening communication in the business sphere, from reminiscence centres to support groups for those with special needs, and in theatrical performances.
