Go North West at Bury Market

Bury's World Famous Market is to welcome the film crew from ITV Granada's series "Go North West".  ITV, are currently in production of the 6th series which will be aired in 2008.  The programme focuses on getting people out and about in the North West, highlighting great places to visit, events, etc.  The most recent series averaged 23% of the viewing share and continues to be very popular with audiences.

In each programme they feature a celebrity guest going to one of their favourite places in the North West.  Famous personality Noreen Kershaw from BBC1's Life on Mars has chosen Bury's World Famous Market as her favourite place.  The production team will be bringing Noreen to the market filming her looking around, and talking to stallholders and customers.  The Market attracts shoppers and tourists from far and wide, and it is expected that 60,000 people will visit the market during the day. 

Filming will take place on a busy Wednesday market day on 22 August. Bury Market is certainly not publicity shy for it has been featured recently on many television and radio programmes including The Jeremy Kyle Show, Granada Reports, Foods From Around Britain, Tonight With Trevor McDonald, the Paul O'Grady show and Channel 4 News.
