One of the 'missing' Vernon Street neighbours was arrested on warrant and appeared before Bury Magistrates yesterday to face the penalty for dumping rubbish in the back street.
Luke Boyle, 23, was one of four defendants summonsed to appear before Bury Magistrates' Court on September 12 regarding waste deposited in back Vernon Street. Unlike two of his neighbours, he chose not to appear on that date and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Subsequently that warrant was executed and Mr Boyle was bailed to appear before the Bury Magistrates Court yesterday, Wednesday October 3.
Mr Boyle appeared without representation and entered a guilty plea to the allegation of unlawfully depositing controlled waste. He admitted depositing 15 bin bags out side the rear of the property claiming that his bin had been stolen and that he had put them out for the bin men. In fact they were seen outside the premises on Monday June 18 and not on a Friday, which is the normal bin day. Having been questioned about the volume of the waste Boyle said that was normal for his household.
Boyle was fined £250.00 ordered to pay £253.50 and in addition must pay a £15 violent crime surcharge. Boyle was ordered to pay that sum at the rate of £10.00 per week.
