Children at Hollins Grundy Primary School were pleased to welcome two Ofsted inspectors earlier this term on the 12th and 13th of November. The inspectors found that Hollins Grundy "is a good school which provides outstanding care, guidance and support for its pupils. In the words of one parent, "My son has had an excellent standard of education and more importantly he has had a happy experience of school life’."
The inspectors visited all classes and spent time talking to pupils, parents and teachers and found that "By the end of Year 6, standards are significantly above average. This is especially so in English."
The inspection highlighted the fact that "Pupils always know what is expected of them and excellent relationships in lessons mean that they are confident and keen to contribute to their own learning."
In their report Ofsted say that "Well-established links with outside agencies make a significant contribution to the school’s outstanding care of pupils and the excellent support it provides for vulnerable pupils." Parents of children at the school agree, and say that "the school provides exceptional care for their children. The school goes the "extra mile’ to ensure pupils’ particular needs are met so that they all achieve well."
Simon Waddington, Headteacher said "I am really pleased that Ofsted agree with the children and their parents that Hollins Grundy is a good school. Everyone in the school community works hard to make sure that children enjoy their time at school and that they learn to love learning."
