Ex Shakers Stars Support Forever Bury's Beer Festival

The Forever Bury Beer Festival planned for the end of this month has had a tremendous boost from three former players. David Nugent of Portsmouth along with Chris Lucketti and Paddy Kenny of Sheffield United have all been in touch with organiser Dave Giffard to sponsor beers at the event.
The event which is in its 4th year has raised over £25,000 to help the struggling Shakers and this years Festival is hoping to raise over £10,000 so that the fans can pay for a much needed new roof on the Social Club where it is held.
"I start organising the Festival in June when the fixture list comes out. It's then a hard slog trying to find sponsors and organising the Beers." said Dave, "So to get our ex-players getting in touch offering their support is fantastic. we've set a record this year for sponsorship raised but there are still 7 barrels that need sponsoring if anyone is interested"
Chris Lucketti and David Nugent have been involved in the past and Chris has actually been along to the Festival to sample some of the beers, he's also hoping to round up a few players from the double promotion years in the mid 90's to come along this time.
This all adds to the fun with some previous visitors having come from Denmark and Holland as well as all corners of the British Isles, including fans of other clubs that are passing through the area.
There will be 39 beers, ciders and perrys as well as a continental Bottle Bar. Live music on all three nights with various acts including Manchester band "Marry Another", "The Would Be Emperors" and seeing as the start of the Festival falls on the anniversary of Shakers Legend Les Hart's birthday, his grandson, Jordan, lead singer of "Atlantic Front" will be appearing on that night.
