Police are continuing to appeal for the public's help in tracing a 12-year-old girl who is missing from home.
Quynh Tran was reported missing by her mum on Monday 3 March 2008. The last time she was seen by her family was at her grandparent's house on Coverdale Avenue, Ardwick at about 5pm the previous day.
Quynh, who lives with her mum on Allesley Drive in Cheetham Hill, is a pupil at Prestwich Arts College but has not turned up for school since Monday.
She was known to be with friends in the Piccadilly Gardens area at about 9pm on Tuesday 4 March 2008 and appeared to be in good spirits.
She is described as being of Vietnamese origin, of slim build, about 5ft 3in tall, with long black hair and brown eyes. On the day of her disappearance she was wearing a grey jacket and jeans. However, when she was last seen she had changed her clothes.
Detective Sergeant Shagufta Khan said: quot;It is now more than 72 hours since Quynh has gone missing and her mum is understandably very worried.
"Quynh was known to be with friends on Tuesday evening and appeared to be safe. However, she is still a young girl and while she may not think there is anything wrong, her family are very concerned.
"I would appeal directly to Quynh to come forward. Quynh, you are not in any trouble. We simply want to find you and reunite you with your mum. Your family is very distressed and just want to hear from you so they can have some peace of mind.
"I woud also appeal to Quynh's friends that if you have seen her, or know of her whereabouts, please contact us. Quynh is not in any trouble and you will be doing the right thing both for your friend and her family by contacting us."
Anyone with information regarding Quynh's whereabouts is asked to call Greater Manchester Police on 0161 872 5050.
