Summerseat Players are to perform a charity show in aid of local youth group Jigsaw.
The fund-raising comedy “Daisy Pulls It Off” is staged on Friday September 17 at the Theatre Royal in Smithy Street, Ramsbottom.
A show for all the family, Denise Deegan’s play is set in the snobby Grangewood School for young ladies. Daisy is a scholarship student but her life is far from plain sailing, as some of her fellow students are set on making her life miserable - but by putting her mind to the task in hand, Daisy fights to win through.
Jigsaw is a sports and social group for young people with disabilities aged 13 to 30 in Bury. It has around 120 members who take part in a wide range of activities, from trips to restaurants and theme parks, sporting events and even visits to famous cities.
Charlotte Turner of Jigsaw said: “There is a high demand for our services and although we rely a great deal on volunteers to help with running the group, we also rely on the kindness of local organisations such as the Summerseat Players to help us raise funds to keep the group going.”
Tickets cost £10 (which include a glass of wine or soft drink before the performance) or £6 for under-16s, and there is a prize raffle at the interval. Curtain-up is 7.45pm.
To book tickets, call Susan on 0161 253 6853.
