Learn more about the local NHS at Annual General Meeting

Date published: 06 September 2010

Members of the public are invited to learn more about local health services by attending NHS Bury’s Annual General Meeting (AGM).

At the event, NHS Bury’s Annual Report for the year 2009/10 will be available, and there will be a series of short presentations including a focus on developments during the year, a financial review and an overview of current and future challenges.

The event will have an interactive feel to it with staff on hand from a range of services including the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), Health Trainers and Bury Stop Smoking Service, offering advice and information to those attending the event.

The meeting will be followed by the presentation of staff awards.

John Boyington CBE, Chief Executive for NHS Bury said: “The AGM will give us a chance to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the NHS in Bury. This is very much a meeting for local communities and for them to get involved. We extend a warm welcome to local people to come along and find out more about health services in Bury, our successes over the year and our future plans.”

The AGM will take place on Monday 20 September 2010 at Bury Town Hall in the Elizabethan Suite. The event will commence at 10.30am and finish at 1.00pm.
