Tea party was blooming great

A Blooming Great Tea Party, held this Sunday (11 July 2010), was a blooming great success, raising £1185.50 for Marie Curie.

The event at Seedfield Methodist Church Hall was very well supported with over 200 people attending from 12 - 2.30 pm.

The organiser of the event, Kaye Volante, said: “People were really generous. Awkward corner gave a huge donation of £100 and Sarah Tobin from Buttylicious sandwich shop on Chesham Road gave all her time and all her proceeds which raised over £180.

“I would really like to thank the band, Driftin! Over Miller, who were absolutely fantastic and gave the event a great atmosphere.”

The lucky winner of the tea party quiz was Miss Phoebe Coop, whose prize was worth well over £200.

It included, a Park Farm tea room £20 gift voucher, Geldards dry cleaners £25 voucher, a £20 voucher for Okeechobee boutique in Rochdale, Mc Guirk's male grooming salon men’s haircut and American crew men’s hair products, A bouquet from The flower shop on Walmersley rd, 15 % off at Walmersley carpets, Chesham Hair & beauty haircut and acrylic nails, Gregory Couzens hair products, Wella Hairdryer, Straightening irons, Envirosphere, Fit ball, perfume and £100 worth of wella hair products. 

Ms Volante added: “The team in the coffee shop worked really hard turning out over 100 bacon sandwiches and it was amazing to see all my friends and members of Seedfield church pull together, they all worked so hard to make this event happen.
