Police and council join forces to stop youth nuisance

Police are working with Bury Council staff to halt anti-social behaviour at a sports club.

Officers have received reports of youths congregating at Manchester Maccabi Sports Club in Bury Old Road, Prestwich, when it is closed.

The council’s parks and countryside staff have agreed to cut back shrubbery to reduce the number of sheltered areas on the club’s grounds.

Youth service staff will be sent to monitor the site over the coming weeks.
