Move date set for GPs relocating to Townside

Staff based at the five GP practices currently located at Ribblesdale Medical Centre and Peel Health Centre will be moving into their new home, Townside Primary Care Centre in the coming weeks.
The two GP practices currently located at Ribblesdale Medical Centre known as ‘Ribblesdale Medical Practices’ (Drs S Subbiah, C Cooke & J Stoddart and Drs PJ Woodcock, CA Britton, DN Kyffin, VI Ogbo & AS Bagewadi) will be moving into the second floor at Townside Primary Care Centre on Friday 11th June 2010 and will be up and running from their new base from Monday 14th June 2010.
The three GP practices currently based at Peel Health Centre, known as ‘Peel GPs’ (Dr PA Jackson & Dr JC Jackson; Dr PM Cleary & Dr AC Haslam and Dr JA Harbottle & Dr SA Chacko) will be moving into the first floor at Townside Primary Care Centre soon afterwards, move date to be confirmed shortly.
Townside Primary Care Centre is a £10 million health facility which is set to transform health services for local patients. The centre which was officially opened by His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent during March this year, extends to over 4,000 sq metres, over five floors and offers 70 clinical rooms.
In the coming weeks, patients will also be able to access a wide range of other health and wellbeing services, including a range of community services. The Centre will also offer an on-site pharmacy for ready access to over the counter medicines and prescription drugs. These other services will move into the centre in the coming weeks in a phased approach.

The GPs at Ribblesdale Medical Practices added: “The Doctors and staff of the Ribblesdale Medical Practices are looking forward to welcoming patients to the new building and making full use of the up-to-date facilities which will give us the opportunity to extend our services to keep pace with future developments in primary care.”
Regarding the move, Peel GPs said: “We are pleased to be able to provide quality healthcare in a safe, modern and clean environment.”
