Are you passionate about working with young people?
Do you want to gain valuable work experience?
Can you spare a couple of hours per week?
If you answered yes to any of the above then we may have the volunteering opportunity that is right for you!
Rachel House and the TAP are two Barnardo’s homelessness projects based within the Bury area which are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to support young people as they make the difficult transition from supported accommodation to independent living. Both projects are looking to recruit volunteers who will work in partnership with the young person, project workers and floating support workers as a way of offering the young person a seamless transition as they move towards sustaining their own tenancies.
The role of the Resettlement Volunteer will be to support the young person from the onset of their move by helping to devise a clear move on strategy with projects workers and the young person, supporting the young person in every day tasks such as buying furniture, filling out forms and managing budgets as well as offering emotional support where needed.
If you are interested in this great opportunity, or would like more information, please contact Hayley Bates at Rachel House on 0161 763 6262 or via email at hayley.bates@barnardos.org.uk
