Man charged following Whitefield collision

A man has been charged following a collision in Whitefield.

Ricardo Vieira (born 27/01/83) of Walker Avenue, Whitefield has been charged with driving with excess alcohol and dangerous driving.

He is due before Bury Magistrates' Court today, Tuesday 30 May 2010.

A 30-year-old woman is in a life-threatening condition after the collision shortly after 10.15am on Sunday 28 March 2010.

Officers were called to Bury New Road and found a Fiat Punto had been in collision with a road sign.

The injured woman was taken to North Manchester General Hospital for treatment to serious head injuries, which are described as life threatening.
