Gas works at Bury Bridge

Drivers are asked to allow extra time for their journey if they are travelling near Bury Bridge during the school Easter holidays.
National Grid Gas is carrying out essential gas repair work on the Bury-bound side of Bolton Street, opposite the RRG Toyota garage.
Work will start on Monday March 29 and is expected to take two weeks to complete.
Initially it is proposed to cone off one lane of the dual carriageway, but due to the location of the gas main it is likely that two lanes will have to be closed, leaving just one lane for traffic heading to Bury from the Bolton Road/Crostons Road junction.
A Bury Council spokesman said: “As people will know, this is an extremely busy section of highway. In order to minimise congestion, the repair work is being done during the school Easter holidays when traffic is lighter than usual. However, it is likely that there will be some disruption to traffic, especially at peak periods.”
