Traders help for hospice

Date published: 06 March 2010

Radcliffe Traders Group has raised £300 for Bury Hospice, its nominated local charity.

The money was raised with help from the Rotary Club of Radcliffe and the Radcliffe Carnival Committee, working in partnership with the traders group to bring forward events in the town.

The cash came from the Radcliffe Xmas Fun Day which included the Scrufts Fun Dog Show and musical entertainment and lights switch-on.

At a recent meeting of the traders group, a cheque was presented to Bury Hospice fund-raising manager Michelle King by Councillor Tony Cummings, chair of Radcliffe Local Area Partnership, and Jude Stubbs, market traders’ representative.

Richard Dandy, chair of the Radcliffe Traders Group, said: “We are very pleased to support Bury Hospice as it is an extremely worthy local cause and does fantastic work.

“We are now looking forward to future events in Radcliffe, including the Radcliffe Dance Off taking place on Saturday May 1. We are keen to encourage all Radcliffe businesses to get involved with the traders group – please phone me on 0161 725 8111.”
