Grab yourself a bag for life
Date published: 02 March 2010
Local residents who attend the next meeting of Whitefield and Unsworth Local Area Partnership have the opportunity to grab themselves a free reusable bag for life which promotes the Love Whitefield Anti Litter campaign
Whitefield and Unsworth are going green and clean for 2010, with an action plan drawn up by local residents which will help tackle the key environmental issues. Throughout 2010 local residents will have the opportunity to take part in gardening learning schemes, community allotment projects and community clean up days. A copy of this plan will be available at the meeting to view.
The meeting will also be discussing other key issues, such as the new location for phase three of Pilkington Park Children’s Centre. Representatives from Children’s Services will be attending the meeting to provide more information about the services which will be on offer as well as a chance to meet the team who will be working in the local community.
Sedgley Tigers Rugby club will be launching their development plan, which will be on display from 5pm before they give a more detailed presentation at the meeting. To view plans today visit www.sedgleytigers.com.
Chair of Whitefield and Unsworth LAP Councillor Michelle Wiseman said: “This really meeting will have a particular focus on what is going on in Pilkington ward with the proposals for the extension of Children’s Centres in the area. I would urge local residents to come along to the meeting to find out about the issues which are affecting our community. If you do come to the meeting don’t forget you can also grab a free bag for life!”
The next meeting of Whitefield and Unsworth Local Area Partnership takes place on March 8 at Elms Community Centre, Green Lane, Whitefield and starts at 6:30pm.
