Public transport information

Date published: 08 January 2010

GMPTE is advising passengers to expect disruptions to public transport services today (Friday 8 January).

Many bus services are operating but are serving main roads only, and Metrolink services are running but with severe delays. Rail operators are continuing to attempt to operate a full timetable although there have been some isolated delays on the network.

Michael Renshaw, GMPTE’s Interim Bus & Rail Director, said: “Bus passengers are advised to stick to the main roads and to travel as early as possible today, as operators may decide to curtail services earlier than normal in light of the icy conditions.

"We would advise passengers to continue to take the conditions into account before travelling."
