Shoppers were dancing in the aisles of Bury Market thanks to the sunshine sounds of samba.

Local musicians Bloco Ashe: Bury Samba banished the winter blues with a rousing set of Brazilian, Cuban and African influenced rhythms.

The project is community based and aims to promote, support and develop percussion-based music.

The band meets every Saturday morning at The Met in Market Street, Bury between 11am and 1pm. New members are welcome, irrespective of skill or experience. Contact the Met on 0161 761 2216 for further details.
