Open Day for local employees at Bury Adult Learning Centre

Local employers are being invited to an open day at the Adult Learning Centre in Bury on Thursday, 12 November from 5.30 pm to find out more about training opportunities.

Visitors will be able to take part in several taster sessions from popular courses such as Writing for Money, CLAIT, Cake Decoration, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and various textile and craft sessions to get a feel for what is on offer.

There will be displays and information promoting key areas of work including: 
. skills for life 
. family learning 
. community and first steps learning 
. workforce development 
. community based work 
. work with homeless and vulnerable people 
. work based learning with employers 
. a show case of students work

Invited guests will be given a guided tour of the centre with one of the student hosts whilst staff will be on hand to answers any questions.

A video diary will be set up for those attending the event to record their own views and experiences of learning or an opportunity to listen to messages already recorded by students about their own learning experiences.

Councillor Michael Hankey, said: “This open day provides a great opportunity for employers to find out more about training opportunities which can be tailored to meet their employees needs and work place environment”.
